I was booking musicians for my college back in 1992 and I
attended the Boston Acoustic Underground Competition, the first
year he was there, not the year he won... and he played Black Rabbit
and it just seemed that so many people did not appreciate it, it is funny
all the local rags said he blew away the competition the next year, in my
mind he blew away the competition that year too.
And I was just hooked on his spirit and enjoyment of the music he plays.
I believe he still plays annually back up at WPI in Massachusetts and have
been fortunate enough to catch him down here in Virginia a couple of times.
Though I miss being able to see him more frequently. The music scene an
hour outside of DC is just not the same as around Boston.
