He's a real guy/ Los Angeles show

I was fortunate enough to get to see Peter when he came to L.A. this year. The place was Genghis Cohen, half restaurant half acoustic nightclub. I was enjoying dinner with my friends when Peter came into the place like he was looking for a big soft blanket. Aas he walked towards our table I got up and extended a hand and invited him to sit with us. He did. We talked about alaska, where he just got back from. he said it was so cold that when you spilled your coffee outside it would turn to ice before it hit the ground. He talked like he knew us, and not at all like he was a star coming to conquer Hollywood. I met Martin Sexton at the same club a year before, and he was great, too, but had a long reception line. Musically, he performed a fantastic show! I watched the other people there, who had come for the lame opening band, and witnessed a transformation from disinterest to worship. When he talked between songs, he mentioned some things that he talked to us about during dinner, but we felt like we had the inside scoop to his anecdotes. He said he'd come back to L.A., but I can't wait to see him again. I'm rambling. I'm sure he's out there somewhere, probably driving the Geo across the country, and he has no idea how many people he has rally touched with his music.
